So many folks think they can't meditate. Their minds are too busy. They can't sit still. The truth is: minds ARE busy. That's normal. Meditation helps us become aware of what's going on in the mind and in the body. It's not about emptying your mind, it's about giving it something to do so your whole being can calm down and become more peaceful. It's a powerful way to manage stress and anxiety.
There are many ways to meditate and it can be helpful to experiment to find something that resonates with you. The important thing to remember is that meditation is a practice ... a journey. Every time is different.
In mid-January, I'll be offering an 8-week program for folks who would like to start, or restart, a meditation practice. Join me at The Village Clinic on Sunday mornings from 9 to 10 a.m. beginning January 15th. $100 for 8 sessions.
The program will include a variety of meditation practices and styles. Learn how to integrate mindfulness and meditation into your everyday life. Adults and teens are welcome. No meditation experience necessary.
